Description: Bon Anniversaire is one of my favorite pieces. I avoided using outlines in this image, and focused on value to deliver depth and shape. The story is that of a couple celebrating their anniversary the way they have since they met at the Eiffel Tower. The expressions of the subjects are very relaxed and confident that their lives are where they are supposed to be. I was very pleased with the use of contrast in this composition, the dark backgrounds really help to explode the candle and center of this image forward to greet the viewer.
